The USA: data pirated with the Ministry for Transport

The list of the victims of the pirates includes in particular companies known to provide services of safety to the government agencies. One thus counts Booz Allen, firm of consultants, the groups Unisys and L-3, the computer maker Hewlett-Packard, and the satellite supplier of network Hughes Network Systems, declared Mel Morris, executive director of the British specialist in safety on Internet, PrevX.
Hewlett-Packard did not wish to comment on this information, while the other companies could not be joined by our fellow-members of Reuters. A spokesman of the Ministry for Transport does not have on his side found any indication allowing to say that there was a fault of safety.
Malicious programs were able to pass the sophisticated systems of safety set up by the government and this in a undetectable way because they were not indexed as being dangerous programs. The pirates aimed at a limited number of computers which will have enabled them not to increase the volume of traffic and to remain thus apart from the radars of the team of safety which often identify the threats by an important modification of the traffic.
“What is most worrying, it is that this small sample of malevolent applications was not recognized by the existing antiviruses. They thus could pass through defenses companies”, added the analyst Andrew Jaquith, of the firm of safety Group Yankee, after being informed by Morris.
One does not know yet why information flights on these office computers but the editors of antivirus planchent already with the supply of c
