The store of Google Videos closes its doors 2007-08-14
After 19 month of experimentation, the world leader of the software decided to close his place of market of vidéos on line.
All the services of Google are not promised with success and after in particular Google Answers, it is with the turn of Google Video to know the decline. It is not however the site of division of vidéos in its entirety which will close its doors August 15 but only its component places from market.
Since January 2006, Google Video in its US version indeed made it possible to buy and to sell vidéos but the arrival of YouTube in the bosom of Mountain View, somewhat changed gives it like the American giant let know with its customers by email. The economic model thus set up proves null and void a priori, Google thus prefers to concentrate on the model calling upon the online advertising, confining almost exclusively Google Video with its role of video search engine.
As a compensation, the injured users who will not be able to view the bought vidéos any more (DRM), will be refunded in the form of a credit of 5 dollars to spend under 60 days via the service of payment of Google, Checkout.
